Kai van Eikels (D)

Kai van Eikels is currently working at the Collective Research Center "Kulturen des Performativen" at the Free University, Berlin. In his research he combines theater and performance studies, political philosophy, and cultural studies. His current topics include: art and labor; virtuosity and the relation of artistic, political and economic notions of performance; critique of improvisation; swarms, "smart mobs" and other emergent forms of collectivity; and the powers of forecasting (www.prognosen-ueber-bewegungen.de/en). Latest publications include: "Prognosen über Bewegungen / Prognoses on Movements", edited with Gabriele Brandstetter and Sibylle Peters (Berlin: bbooks, 2009).
