Fritzpunkt (A)
What is normal is ultimately decided by the balance of forces that has taken over the history of interpretation for normalcy in a particular terrain
First publication of the novel fragment ”Naturgemäß III” by Marianne Fritz
15% installation
85% literature

The Viennese theatre ensemble Fritzpunkt, who appeared at steirischer herbst two years ago, are establishing an eleven-day hands-on text installation that makes the novel fragment ”Naturgemäß III” by Styrian author Marianne Fritz accessible for the first time. The increasingly rugged text terrains in the unpublished writings radicalise the narrative technique to a point where narration and structure converge and become an image. With their installation, Fritzpunkt take up the challenge that such pages of a score pose for any attempt at interpretation and expose the text to be inscribed and written over by visitors. With succinct tools – pens, paints, post-its – individual interpretations are left behind as traces in the increasingly ambivalent system of reference, thus blurring and utilising the boundary – that is today solely of commercial interest – between author and interpreter.
