45% lecture performance
29% Kinshasa
26% spontaneity

Kinshasa: one of the fastest growing cities in the world, the New York of Africa. From June to September 2010, the Dutch director Lotte van den Berg is working here with her OMSK ensemble, looking for the invisible, imaginary ”second world”, which is, however ever present in everyday Congolese life – a world of ghosts, of wishes, of the past, of possibilities ...
Two weeks after her return to Europe, Lotte van den Berg is coming to Graz for a spontaneous presentation of the initial findings of her research – a night of surprises, of unrehearsed reflection on experiences in and between two worlds. ”Cold Turkey” is a kick off for the theatre production ”The Second World”, based on the experiences of travelling between cultures, made by OMSK and artists from Congo, which will be staged at steirischer herbst 2011.

Co-produced by steirischer herbst, OMSK, K-Mu Théâtre, Compagnie Dakar, Kunstenfestivaldesarts (Brussels), Internationale Keuze van de Rotterdamse Schouwburg, Alkantara Festival (Lisbon) &
Festival Boulevard (Den Bosch)
Co-presented by NXTSTP, with the support of the Culture Programme of the European Union
